It was strange for Jansen to be wearing a winter beanie when summer hadn’t even finished yet, but she had to do what she had to do. There was no way she was walking around with no hair on her head. She was not going to let anyone make fun of her, no way - no how.
She also felt her grip on reality was continuing to fade out and she knew she needed to get a grip on herself or there would be nothing left. She had watched her match with Wendy at least a dozen times since it happened on Sunday. She would watch it a dozen more if she had the time.
Everything was moving very fast now and with so much planned for the future. Everything was in place. The only setback was her match with Zombie and her new freaking hair cut. Outside of that, all the stars are perfectly in line. She needed them to stay that way.
What she really needed was someone who could help her refocus. Someone who could help her get right. Someone who would be able to put everything into perspective. She only knew one person who could help her. She picked up her phone and shot off a text. Hopefully, she hadn’t changed her number from when they used to hang out.
She packed her gear for a trip to the gym later tonight. She doesn’t go in the daytime now, only at night when there are very few people working out.
The doorbell rang and she walked over and opened it to find the UPS guy standing there with a box.
“Jansen Myrrh?”
“Perfect. I was waiting on that.”
“Sign here.”
Jansen scribbled her signature on the electronic pad and handed it back and retrieved her box. She walked over, opening it up and pulled out the contents and with a smile on her face, she nodded to herself. “This will work.”
She placed the item back into the box when her phone dinged at her, indicating a received text. She picked it up.
“I’m still here, but leaving tomorrow. If you want to meet, it has to be tonight.”
Jansen returned the text indicating she was on her way. She grabbed her keys and her wallet and she walked out.
The address given to her was a hotel downtown. She plugged the number into her GPS and navigated her way through Denver. She had to catch a flight tomorrow for Las Vegas for Ammo and her match with her former manager Paul Banter, but she was already packed. The only reason she was hanging around was that she was expecting her package to arrive later today.
Then the voice told her she had arrived to her destination, she pulled into the parking lot, got out of her car and walked into the building.
The elevator took her to the 6th floor and she stepped out and walked down the hallway until she found 618. She knocked on the door.
It only took a few seconds but the door eventually opened. “Come on in,” she was greeting by Anaquin Adams.
Anaquin Adams and Jansen Myrrh have a very brief history. As part of “Team Best Entrance Music” they took part in a trios tournament for Rose City Wrestling with Kem as their tag team partner. Adams was only there for that tournament and then came back to have a match with Stacey DeVille. But they did have a bit of a connection until Jansen took Banter as her manager. Then Kem dropped her as a friend, not understanding why Jansen had took the turn she did. Anaquin she saw again on the Good Times PPV when she came to fight Tyke Index. They had a brief moment there. But Jansen all but avoided her at Spectacular 2 which would be why Adams was surprised to hear from her.
Jansen stepped into the room and Anaquin let the door shut, “I was surprised to get your text. I looked for you at the show on Sunday, but couldn’t find you. Sorry about what happened in your match,” Anaquin said as she offered Jansen a seat on the bed as Anaquin pulled up a chair.
Anaquin didn’t say anything about the cap on her head or anything specific, but it was obvious that she was referring to the hair cut.
Jansen shook her head, “I left right after. I didn’t want anyone to see me like that. But, I’m not really here about all of that.”
“What’s on your mind?”
“I need to get myself back on track. This entire episode has me losing my mind and I need to realign myself somehow.”
Anaquin looked at her for a few moment and nodded. “I can see that. Your aura is definitely out of focus. I might be able to help.”
“I know you don’t agree with my path here, but this is important to me. All of my life has been about wrestling. I didn’t have time for boyfriends,” except that one time, “or clubs, or anything else. It has been wrestling since day one. I just need a little help to get through this patch.”
Anaquin nods, listening. “I’m not here to judge you. You are your own person. Unless you start something with me, or I feel you’ve cross some line then you and I are still good.”
Jansen nods at her, "Okay."
The Universal Superstar stands up and reaches for Jansen’s hand. “Come. I think I know what to do.”
Jansen takes her hand and for the next hour Anaquin did what Anaquin does and as they said their goodbyes, Jansen was already feeling more in tune with herself than she had been in a very long time.
As they said their goodbyes, Jansen stepped out into the hallway and started for the elevator when her phone chimed. She glanced at it as she pressed the button for the elevator.
“Package. Gate E4. 9:45PM”
It was 9:20. She was going to have to hurry.
