Date: October 13th, 2019 Time: Post-match War Queen Leah vs Becca “Bruiser” Maguire Location: Talking Stick Resort Arena, Phoenix, AZ The War Queen stumbled almost aimlessly through the backstage area with a grin across her face. She had just gone back into battle with the one known as Bruiser. This time, however, she was the victor. Just as Leah had predicted, Becca was consumed with hate and desire to rip her arms out of the socket and make her scream. The War Queen anticipated Bruiser’s use of Freyr’s Sacrifice and was able to turn the submission into a pin. What happened after the bell, though, is what has put Leah in this situation. Visible scratches across her face, chest and arms Leah was the recipient of a Kickstarter by Becca with an assist from a bit of barbed wire. A bit of matted blood stains a portion of her blue hair. Backstage workers wandering by don’t quite know what to make of the situation. Should they get a medic, a stool, a psychiatrist? The War Queen’s grin soon becomes an audible laughter as she continues to stumble around the area, grasping for the wall with one hand to try and stay upright. Production Assistant: Ma’am, can I help you? Do you need anything? Leah pushes the assistant out of the way before stumbling a few more feet and falling to the ground. She rolls over onto her back hysterically laughing. The same production assist hustles over with another individual who helped her back to her feet, bracing her against the wall. The War Queen shoves them off as the laughter turns to utter contempt. War Queen Leah: Get off me! The War Queen shoves the two back and they scatter. Leah returns with her back against the wall, sliding down into a seated position. She wipes some saliva from her mouth with one hand then draws her blood stained hair back behind her ear with the other. She sits there with her arms resting on her knees in front of her as she realizes the cameras continue to follow her. The grin returns to her face. War Queen Leah: Oh, Bex. I got you this time didn’t I? So sure of yourself. Headstrong, you had your head in the clouds and your mind in the gutter. It’s that sort of arrogance that made you weak. You got your shots in though. Leah motions at her face and neck. War Queen Leah: I’m sure I deserved this after what I did to the lot of ya. You were embarrassed, humiliated, left lying like the miserable sacks of shit ya are. Oh, Bex. I bet you think you got a measure of revenge. I bet you think despite not winning the match ya won one for the team. You really laid it into me after our match. Still, how does it feel to be the only Maiden outside of Wendy that didn’t get a W tonight? Leah laughs as she half heartedly puts the War Queen W up in front of her. War Queen Leah: Kind of stings doesn’t it? At least Wendy has her excuse lined up in the form of Stanton. What about you? Oh, but don’t worry. You saved face by kicking my ass after the match. You’re a real badass, Bex. Everyone knows that. There’s only one thing I need to remind you, Bex. Leah winces as she tries to pull herself up to her feet, all the while still leaning against the wall. War Queen Leah: I’m still standing. And that shit you just pulled in the ring? I love that shit. I want more of it. You think you got one over on me, Bex. That was simply foreplay. I welcome your pain. Come get me next week at AMMO. Come get me at ThrowDown. Do your worst cuz I get off on that shit. I’m a glutton for punishment and quite honestly I don’t think you have it in you to not hold back. That’s the difference between Coven and the Shieldmaidens. The War Queen turns to walk away but can’t quite make it more than a few steps. War Queen Leah: Hey douchebag, how about you help me over to the trainer’s office. I got like a bruised rib or something. Now hurry up? The production assistant scurries over to Leah. Leah throws her arm over the assistant and he helps her hobble down the hall.
*********************************** Date: Present Day Time: 6:52PM Location: Unknown The scene opens up in a dimly lit room. The camera pans across a long oak table until we reach the head of the table. There, The War Queen Leah sits perched with her #IamCOVEN tank top prominently on display. Behind her is a large banner of the Coven logo. She has had a lot to think about over the course of the last few weeks. Defeating Bruiser and the subsequent beatdown she was on the receiving end of. Now looking forward, ThrowDown features the beginning of what can become a turning point of her stay in MHW. War Queen Leah: We’re but a few short days away from Episode 25 and there’s much to discuss. At ThrowDown we see the final two matches in the first round of the Rise of the Phoenix Tournament. Now, when this was thrown together I’m positive it was meant to create some unique encounters as we embark towards seeing just whom is the next breakout star. We’ve already seen Bullet take on Emily Falls in a bout where… well, let’s just say sweet innocent Emily did not deserve the mistreatment brought upon her. If Mr. Robert Mack were a man at all he would have overturned the referee’s decision and disqualified Bullet for the heinous act she committed post match. Emily, however, shall return. She’ll return and show Bullet that she’s messed with the wrong girl. That much I can guarantee you. Just take a look at what she was able to do this past week at AMMO. She’s got a fire in her belly and I personally can’t wait to see her unveil it on the right opponent. The War Queen shifts forward in her seat, placing her elbows on the table in front of her. War Queen Leah: This week we get to see Saoirse take on a mystery opponent in what is certain to be a match that no one could ever anticipate. To be frank I don’t give a shit who wins that match because they can both just f### off. I’m not concerned about ya’ll. There’s another match this week that I’m sure people are eager to see. I’m sure Mr. Mack thinks he’s brought something new and exciting to the table by pitting me against Ripley in the first round. You have no idea what you just signed off to, Rob. The roots run deep in this one and, well… Ripley knows all too well what I am talking about. Leah leans far back in the chair and kicks her boots up on to the table. War Queen Leah: I’m no stranger to a phoenix rising. Elsewhere, my husband ran roughshod over a Phoenix division for the better part of two years. No one could stop him, Ripley included. It wasn’t until Ripley began to show his true colors that he was ever able to get one over on my hubs. That was quickly rectified though. Wasn’t it babe? “The New Perfection” Jay Aguero, Leah’s husband, appears from out of the darkness and takes a seat adjacent to the War Queen. Jay Aguero: What up, Rip? Bet you never thought you’d see me outside of the Universal Wrestling Federation. It appears the War Queen has a trick up her sleeve and it’s me. No, no, no. I am not signed to a MHW contract. I’m not on their payroll and for that you should be so lucky. No, what it means is that Leah has quite possibly the greatest advisor going into this match. She has a man that has been inside the ring with you more times than either of us can ever truly remember. There is one number, though, that I do remember. Two. That’s the number of times you have gotten the win over me compared to my… Jay beginnings counting off the wins he’s had over Ripley silently but expressing them with his fingers. Leah sits upright in her chair once more just staring at Jay. Jay Aguero: I apologize. I lost count of how many times I’ve whipped your ass over the years. The War Queen holds her hand up to stop Jay from continuing the run his mouth. War Queen Leah: Needless to say, this isn’t the UWF. This is MHW. This isn’t about the feud between Ripley and Jay that encompassed so much time. No, this is about the Rise of the Phoenix Tournament. In life we are given a path and along that path we come to a crossroads. In that crossroad, we have a choice to either stand up and show ourselves what we’re truly made of or fail to thrive and fizzle out. Ripley, everyone’s talking about how you’ve been on such a roll as of late. They talk about how a year ago you were practically a joke and yet today you stand here as the first ever AMMO TV Champion. You’ve survived Emily Falls. You’ve survived Muriko. But that’s just it. You’ve merely survived. You’ve stood outside the fire looking in. This Sunday at ThrowDown you step inside the fire and face the War Queen. You can watch your tapes. You can look to keep getting better but your roll is about to come to an abrupt halt. This will not be a match that you just so happen to survive. You need not worry about Coven involvement. You need not worry about your little side piece stalker girlfriend getting involved. She is but a mute point. At ThrowDown it is but the two of us stepping in that ring together. Only one of us will walk away moving on to the second round of the Rise of the Phoenix Tournament and… well… suffice to say when all is said and done a Blasian Phoenix will rise. The War Queen throws her arms out to her sides in a sign of arrogance before folding them back in front of her leaning on the table. War Queen Leah: Ripley, you’re in the position you are for a reason. It’s not just a matter of dumb luck. You’ve earned your spot as AMMO TV Champion. You should feel proud of yourself. Your journey, however, ends at that. It is said, “effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction.” The Rise of the Phoenix Tournament will be a showcase for yours truly. I have my purpose. After I beat you, after your winning streak comes to a startling halt, then and only then my Coven sisters will join me in the ring. Muriko. Huruka. Emily. Maho. Jansen. The Coven shall rise just as the Blasian Phoenix will soar straight through to the finals of this tournament and show all of MHW just what the Coven is all about. So be ready to throw dem War Queen Ws high in the air and accept the fact that the real War Queen Leah has landed in MHW. A door offscreen can be heard opening pouring in light from the outside. All we can see on camera are three shadows. The voices, however, are a dead giveaway to who it is. Jansen Myrrh: You ready? The War Queen Leah stood up from her seat at the end of the table and fixes her jacket. War Queen Leah: Is it happening now? Jansen Myrrh: Yup, let’s roll. As Leah makes her way towards the door, Muriko says something in Japanese. Muriko Ihari: Anata no otto wa totemo ōkī Muriko covers her mouth giggling as Huruka elbows her. Leah stands there with a confused look on her face. She stops herself from saying anything inappropriate and instead turns to Jansen raising an eyebrow. Jansen Myrrh: She says your husband is very big. Don’t mind her. She means it innocently. The War Queen lets out a half hearted chuckle. War Queen Leah: You should see him below the belt. Huruka turns bright red at Leah’s words as Leah walks out the door. Muriko sees her sister and looks at her curiously, then nudges her wanting to know what was said. Embarrassed, Huruka finally does and Muriko laughs out loud as they all follow.

October 20th, El Paso, Texas
Sitting on an examination table in the trainers area is Ripley. He’s still in his ring gear and has the Ammo Television Championship laying beside him. While looking grumpy and annoyed he allows one of the MHW medical staff to examine his eye.
Ripley: How much longer is this going to be?
Medic: Just a moment. I want to make sure the eye itself hasn’t been damaged.
Ripley: It’s fine. I can see your ugly mug clear as day.
Before he can respond the door burst open and a very angry looking red headed woman enters. Alice, Ripley’s wife.
Alice: What the hell was that?
Ripley: Wish I knew.
Alice: This Ginger Knox crap is getting ridiculous and you really need to put an end to it.
Ripley: Tell me something I don’t know. I told her not to get involved but she’s just obsessed with me for some reason. Almost got herself seriously hurt tonight. Ridiculous.
Alice: Yeah and you rushed in to save the day.
Ripley: You saying I should’ve let her get beaten down?
Alice remains silent and just shrugs.
Ripley: Come on you know I couldn’t do that. She may be a pain in the ass but...doesn’t mean she deserves a beating like that.
Alice: You know, I’m starting to think you like this attention.
Ripley gives her a shocked look and pushes the medic to the side and stands up.
Ripley: You really think that?
Alice: I mean, you could put a stop to this if you wanted.
Ripley: Believe me I want this to stop. I’m trying to set the bar for what it means to be the Ammo Television Champion but Ginger keeps getting involved in my business and making that difficult. I’ve told her over and over to leave me alone but she just doesn’t listen. I’m getting more and more frustrated and now you think I like the attention?
Ripley looks down to the floor and shakes his head.
Alice: Look, I know all of this is pissing you off but I’m just trying to say you need to be more firm with getting Ginger to leave you alone.
She steps closer to Ripley and looks at him until he meets her gaze.
Alice: And words might not be clear enough for her. Or maybe next time she feels like getting involved in your match I should be at ringside to show her why that’s a bad idea.
Ripley: Alice…
Alice: What don’t think I can’t take her? I’ve wrestled before remember? Was pretty good too.
Ripley chuckles.
Ripley: Yeah you were but I just don’t want to escalate this situation anymore than what it already is. Got my hands full with Ginger and this Coven ridiculousness.
Alice: Really is ridiculous.
Ripley takes a deep breath and lets it out.
Ripley: Alright, I think for now though we should get out of here. Blow off some steam before I have to get ready for my next match.
Alice: Leah...more Coven business. Great.
Ripley: And a big opportunity with a win over her but let’s worry about that later. Right now let’s get out of here and have some fun in El Paso while we’re here.
Alice: Sounds good but I think you need a shower first.
Ripley chuckles as he grabs the Ammo Television Championship. The two exit the trainers area.
October 25th, San Antonio, Texas.
Sitting in one of the seats inside the empty AT&T Center with the Ammo Television Championship resting on his left shoulder is Ripley. He takes a few seconds to look around the arena.
Ripley: In just a couple days this is where I’ll make my return to ThrowDown. Of course I imagine my return will be short since I’m the Ammo Television Champion and working hard doing my part to build up Ammo but it’s been awhile since I’ve been on ThrowDown so I’m excited. Even more excited to be a part of the Rise of the Phoenix Tournament, which is why I’m on ThrowDown.
He leans forward.
Ripley: Not excited about who I’m facing though. Leah the War Queen and a member of Coven. I just can’t seem to get away from that group. Then again they seem to be quickly becoming an issue for a lot of people around here. I’m not one to complain though and I will meet her in that ring and I will defeat her.
He leans back in his seat.
Ripley: I know she’s bursting with confidence and to be honest I don’t blame her. She’s one of the few people in this business that can go anywhere and find success rather quickly. Both her and Jay. Yeah I didn’t really think I’d ever see Jay here but I should’ve figured he’d pop up somehow since Leah is here.
Ripley leans forward again and has a somber look on his face.
Ripley: Jay, he’s someone else who I did wrong last year. Leah mentioned that the only time I got one over on him was when I showed my “true colors” and well I’ll explain that right now. Over in UWF Jay and I fought many times but then one night I saw an opportunity to take a championship from him. It wasn’t an honorable or respectful way either. I blindsighted him and beat him down when he wasn’t expecting it. I took a cheap way to victory. That was at the start of me losing myself and going down a dark path. I threw away a mutual respect we had for each other and I doubt he’ll ever forgive me. Honestly don’t blame him but Leah was wrong. Those weren’t my true colors. That was me lost and confused.
He stands up and paces a few steps back and forth.
Ripley: This Sunday I am ready to meet Leah in the ring and fight her. She can consult with her husband all she wants but the advice that I’ll give her is don’t underestimate me. I’m a different man than I was last year and I’m still working hard to prove it. I’ve stepped up and I won this championship fair and square despite what Emily and DTI want to say. Now every day I work hard to make this a championship that is a top prize. Based on the line of people that want to take it from me I’d say I’m doing a pretty damn good job.
He stops pacing and looks into the camera.
Ripley: Leah, I will beat you to advance in this tournament. Over my career I’ve failed many times and I’ve risen back up over and over. I refuse to stay down or accept defeat. This tournament is called Rise of the Phoenix and well I’ll tell you and everyone watching, I’m a damn Phoenix. Each time it looks like it’s the end for me I somehow comeback stronger than before. Just look at how I turned everything around from being mocked and losing more often than I win to standing at the top of Ammo. I’m not intimidated by you or any other members of the Coven and Sunday I will defeat you.
He chuckles.
Ripley: You many think the odds are in your favor but like I said on Twitter, I'm used to going against the odds. Once I was considered a dark horse but I shed that. Now you’re looking at a Phoenix.
He walks down the row of seats as the scene fades out.
