The Shieldmaidens had just put some in for the EWC Youngblood Pay-Per-View with Alex “Bullet” Carbajal, Samantha “Titaness” Hamilton, Jackie “Bandit” Layton, and “Psycho” Saoirse Maguire had all just wrestled on the show and Aoife “Banshee” Maguire and Club Prospect “K-Dub” Katrina “Knox” Knox were present as well given that they usually served as a ringside manager and bodyguard, respectively.
It had been a relatively good night for the Maidens in their hometown. Bullet had wrestled a four-way match with Azumi Goto, Wes Walker and Killjoy Ito, each representing a different brand of EWC. Likewise, Bandit and Psycho as ST had wrestled Lunch Time, The Rising Tide and Bullet Hell. Both Bullet and ST had enjoyed good showings without coming out victorious while the Titaness had reigned supreme over her opponent in Darius, albeit earning a few new battle scars that had taken a couple of minutes to bandage up after, and the six were going to go swing by University Medical Center to pick up their Club Sgt-At-Arms, Essentia “Essie” Carbajal, who took shifts as a nurse there.
As the six walk out to their bikes, Bullet’s phone rings.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: ¿Bueno?
The voice on the other end of the line, Club Road Captain Becca “Bruiser” Maguire, answers with news from the other show a Shiledmaiden was wrestling on that night in Albany, Georgia.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Zombie won tonight too!
The other five Maidens cheer as Bullet nods to the voice on the phone.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Sam won her match. I was not involved in the decision in mine. The two big guys swept Jack and Sorsh’s match. It was still a good night getting to be in front of that crowd here at home!
Bullet can’t help but smile as Bruiser cheers them all on.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: We’ll be there tomorrow. Sorsh says she loves you and will call you when she gets home, tell Angel, Jack and I love her and we will do the same when we get home.
The call ends and Psycho beams.

Trailing off, a thought dawns on her comprehension.

Bandit and Psycho nod, both smiling back at their president as Bullet turns and starts towards their bikes again. All six walk over, climb onto their respective rides, strap on their helmets and fire the bikes up. Ten minutes later, they pull up outside the hospital to see Essie speaking animatedly with two guys. As they pull in closer and set to park next to Essie’s bike, they see the two guys are, in fact, police officers.
Samantha "Titaness" Hamilton: What the hell?
Bullet raises a hand as the two cops walk away and Essie starts over towards her bike. Her six sisters watch as she sits on her bike and straps on her helmet.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: ¿Quiubo Parce, todo bien o que?
Essie waves it off dismissively.
Essentia "Essie" Carbajal: Nada…
Titaness, Bandit, Psycho, Banshee and Knox all just stare in confusion.

Bullet nods grimly again as the others all seem to grit their teeth in outrage.

Bullet crosses her arms.

She pauses and then looks to Essie.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Ok, give them to the twins and have them look into them as well. I will have Zombie ask around some more when we get home from Albany. The camera opens on Alex “Bullet” Carbajal standing under the familiar black banner with the white Shieldmaidens lettering on it dressed in blue jeans, black Sepultura Chaos A.D. t-shirt and her Shieldmaidens kutte.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: From one fourway to another…
Nodding, she steps away from the wall and gazes into the camera.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: On Monday, at Youngblood, I stepped into the ring with Azumi Goto, Wes Walker and Killjoy Ito right here in New Orleans and we showed the world what the La Sangre Joven de EWC could do!
Her right hand moves up in a small fist pump of triumph.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Now on Friday, what was to be a three person match between Preston Drake, Jonathan Thomas Cross and myself which would be difficult enough. I would have been the smallest and the only non-second generation wrestler in a fight with no rules that is also the kind of fight that Preston detests. I’m not sure JTC is much of a fan of the idea either and I have only one kind of experience with hardcore, that of ladder matches.
Frowning slightly, Bullet starts to nod slightly.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: And then we got the word that things had changed and Scorpio had been added and this seemed strange on certain levels as well.
She raises her right hand, palm up.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: On the one hand, Scorpio enjoys showing off his mean streak now more than he used to...
Her right hand lowers and her left hand raises up, also palm up.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: On the other, he doesn’t like people hitting him in the face and certainly is no fan of hardcore…
She switches her hand’s places a few times, seemingly weighing the options as she does so.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: This match…
Her hands lower and she looks directly into the camera.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Will not be pretty, no matter what Scorpio says or does. Much to the chagrin of most of us, we are going to go to hardcore war and we are all going to have to do things we have either never done or that we hait to do. Preston Drake is going to have to become like his father for the night, which I’m sure will not please him at all. JTC will have to go to places he has been trying to get away from and not be thought of as JC Styles anymore. Scorpio will have to engage in activities that he knows means someone will try and hit him in the face with something that is likely to disfigure or otherwise mar his perfection. I will have to face hardcore for the first time in my career. I have several sister Maidens who have excelled at it, two here in EWC in Samantha “Titaness” Hamilton and “Psycho” Saoirse Maguire, and then Dona “Venom” Rotten, Wendy “Zombie” Stevens and I believe Ophelia “Widow” Blaque had one once upon a time as well. The Shieldmaidens have never shied away from hardcore and it will not start that wil me!
She nods forcefully, pointing into her chest with her right index finger.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: I know a few other members of our group like Aerynn “Chaos” Maguire and our former president, Robi Jean MItchell, had experience in other forms of fighting that did not play well with rules so I am confident that when Friday comes, I have people I can lean on to help me see where I need to go.
Her hand moves away from her chest and waves slightly towards the camera.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: Preston, I’m sorry you have to go where you do not wish to go. JTC, Scorpio, I’m sorry you do as well but the four of us never asked for this…
Her hand squeezes into a fist.
Alex "Bullet" Carbajal: None of us asked to be put in this position but like everything else, we will all walk to that ring and get ready to smash whatever is in our way. I will show the world that when you invite a Shieldmaiden to a party like this, make sure you know what you are getting into!
She holds her hand out in the shape of a gun.
