The scene opens as we find Kara “Killer” Carter along with her fiancée Gabriela “Taza” Carbajal, both dressed in dark blue overalls and working on fixing up a Franklin Mint 1969 Harley Davidson chopper while Shieldmaidens President and Taza’s older sister, Alex “Bullet” Carbajal, dressed in red overalls, is overseeing what’s going on and filling out some paperwork.

Taza cannot nod her approval of the beast fast enough.

¡Qué chimba! She is a beauty! I cannot believe we get to play with it!

Killer chuckles and Bullet smirks as she briefly glances out onto the street and she notices an elderly couple dressed in very smart clothing, the woman pushing a stroller and Bullet’s face drops when she recognises the baby girl in said stroller.

Taza looks up and can’t believe her eyes.

You’ve gotta be fucking kidding me!

Killer tosses the wrench she was holding into the toolbox and begins to march towards her parents with Bullet and Taza quickly following behind her.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Hey! What the fuck are you two doing here?!

Bullet quickly steps between them.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
Calmate… Calmate…

Mr. Carter
We’re just taking our granddaughter out for a walk. Is that a crime?

Killer scoffs.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Oh and you just so happen to be here in NOLA?! And just so happen to pass by our garage?! You’re both fucking pieces of work, you know that?!

Due to all the shouting from Killer, her sister and Rose’s mother, Tori Carter along with her fiancée, Molly “Mox” Kenyon appear on the scene and as soon as Tori sees Rose, she immediately runs over to her.

Before Tori can get anywhere near her daughter, a young man dressed in a black suit seems to appear out of nowhere and stops her dead in her tracks.

Ma’am… I’m afraid you can’t be anywhere near Lady Rose… as per request from Mr. and Mrs. Carter.

Killer rolls her eyes before grabbing the man who just put his hands on her sister, spins him around and then headbutts him right between the eyes.

Don’t you DARE put your hands on my sister!

Bullet and Taza move to Killer while Mox runs over to Tori.

Molly "Mox" Kenyon
I’ve got you, Sugar…

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
No des papaya…

Gabriela "Taza" Carbajal
Kara….no…

Taza and Bullet take hold of Killer before she can do anything else while Mox takes hold of Tori in her arms. Mr. Carter helps the man up to his feet who is holding his nose that is pouring with blood.

This is exactly the kind of reason why we do not want Lady Rose being brought up in this environment…

Kara "Killer" Carter
It’s Rose you fucking asshole! Just Rose!

Mrs. Carter shakes her head.

Mrs. Carter
Such foul language.

Kara "Killer" Carter
You can go fuck yourself too, bitch! Neither of you deserve to be called parents! And as far as we’re all concerned?! You’re not Rose’s grandparents! We’re getting her back whether you fucking like it or not!

Mr. Carter chuckles.

Mr. Carter
Good luck with that, because now on top of the child abuse charges, since you just assaulted one of our bodyguards? We shall be filing charges of assault on you.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Do it! I don’t fucking care anymore! Do your fucking worst!

Taza and Bullet both just stare at the elder Carters in stunned disbelief.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
Come back to the shop… give them nothing else…

Gabriela "Taza" Carbajal
I love you, Kara, please?

Killer breaks free from Taza and Bullet and turns back to the shop, once again followed by Bullet, Taza, Tori and Mox. Once they reach the garage, Killer is pacing back and forth, seemingly looking for something to hit or smash or something.

Tori Carter
She was right there… all I wanted to do was just hold her again…

Mox shakes her head.

Molly "Mox" Kenyon
Why would they do such to their own children?

Kara "Killer" Carter
Because that’s who they are, Mox! The same answer to that question that it’s always been! And I’m getting sick and tired of being told to calm the fuck down too!

Killer glares at Mox, Bullet and even Taza as she says this.

Kara "Killer" Carter
How the Hell do you expect me to calm down when this shit is happening?! Can either of you answer that question for me?!

Bullet nods grimly.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
Because you have to. Not because I told you to, not because Jackson told us it was in our best interest, but because it is what is best for Rose.

She points out the door.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
They did this on purpose, Kara. They did this because they knew it would hurt both of you but also because they knew it would provoke you and it worked. You punched somebody and bloodied him. Now they have another hammer they can hit you with and you gave it to them. If you want Rose back, if you want her away from them, then you have to remain calm and not give in to them but also, if you want to beat them, if you want to not just let them win because they are horrible people with too much money, then you have to keep yourself contained. This is war, Kara, and if the bombs go off, you need to be able to remain calm to fight back. You cannot do anything to them if you are rotting in jail because they got to you again…

She pauses and then nods grimly again.

Alex "Bullet" Carbajal
And they will try again. You just showed them this work so they will come back and they will try to push your buttons more and harder. You need to be able to stop yourself from giving them that satisfaction, Kara. You will never forgive yourself, if you cannot. ¿Entiendes?

Killer strokes her hands through her short hair and sighs heavily.

Tori Carter
You know she’s right, Kara. I love you… and I also love that you’re willing to stand up for me and Rose… but Bullet’s right.

Killer folds her tree trunk like arms across her chest and pinches the top of her nose with the thumb and index finger of her right hand before shaking her head.

Kara "Killer" Carter
I can’t fucking do that… I’m sorry. If I see them again… I have no idea what I’ll end up doing… so I guess that means I’m out. If it means getting Rose back… I don’t wanna fuck that up… so yeah… I’m done.

Killer turns around and leaves the garage as the scene fades.

The scene re-opens as we see Killer sitting down on a chair with a bottle of whiskey in her hand as she chugs some of it and wipes her mouth before looking down to the floor. After a few moments of silence, the door to the room opens and in walks Killer’s tag team partner, Jackie “Bandit” Layton who closes the door behind her.

Somebody’s in a good mood…

Killer briefly looks up to Bandit and then leans back in the chair, taking another swig from the bottle.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Yeah well… I’ve probably just gone and fucked up our chances of getting Rose back… so forgive me if I’m not smiling and singing about fucking sunshine and rainbows.

Bandit nods at the camera.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
Jackson’ll take care of that. We’ve got a Hunt to run here…

Killer nods before taking one last drink and then setting the bottle down on the floor in front of her. The behemoth then looks into the camera and clasps her hands together, resting her elbows on her knees.

Kara "Killer" Carter
So here we are. We said we were gonna show the Cross’ exactly who we are and we did that and then some, didn’t we Jack?

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
So we don’t need to listen to that bullshit anymore!

Killer smirks and nods.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Damn right! And now we find ourselves fighting for the right to be crowned Tag Team Champions. And this time? It’s different… but not completely different. See, this time around… we’re going up against The Purge… our fellow Shieldmaiden sisters, Wendy “Zombie” Pelligrini and the current reigning Hardcore Champion, Katrina “Hairicin” Knox.

Yup. And this match is gonna be different in the sense of… neither of us are gonna trash talk the others… or make up some bullshit about how one team isn’t taking the other team seriously… because we’re above that and at the end of the day, we’re all sisters.

Killer leans back in the chair and folds her tree trunk like arms across her chest.

Kara "Killer" Carter
But where it remains the same? The moment we step between those ropes and that bell rings at Throwdown? Our sisterhood… our bond as Shieldmaidens ends temporarily… and it’s all business from there until that second bell tolls!

Bandit nods.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
Zombie and Harry have both done really well here. They’ve both been champions here on their own and they’ve been tag team champions elsewhere. Now they get to come here and see what it’s like to walk into the tag team division of Mile High… with me…

Killer nods and points to Bandit.

Kara "Killer" Carter
Exactly! You two already know Jack’s history here in the tag team division… she’s the best damn tag team specialist this company has ever seen! And this time around… she’s teaming up with me! I’m still technically a rookie in this industry… and I’m brand new to the tag team scene… and I know that I’ve got huge shoes to fill when it comes to the former partners Jack has had here in Mile High! So one could say that I have a bit of a chip on my shoulder in that regard…

Bandit glances over and nods playfully.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
Looks a bit bigger than a chip…

Killer chuckles a little.

Kara "Killer" Carter
At the end of the day, Harry… Zombie? We love you both and we will ride with you until the very end. But when it comes to episode thirty four of Mile High Throwdown on June 27th? The Wild Hunt plan on walking out with those tag team titles!

Bandit nods slightly, almost absently.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
Big shoes to fill next to me…

Still nodding as if to herself, Bandit glares into the camera.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
Yeah, I would say so considering Widow and I never really lost…

She pauses and holds up a hand to stop any reactions from reaching their destinations.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
And I don’t mean just the championships with all that bullshit with Mosh and Ripley and Mosh’s one shining moment that he then proceeded to piss on repeatedly until everyone forgot he ever had one, I mean Widow and I never fucking lost! Period, full stop, end of fucking statement! It took an act of God to stop us and then Sam stepped in and we picked shit right back up again and walked through the division like a hot knife through nearly ready to melt butter! We lost all of once and that was because Tox and Shox got two bites at the apple one night and pulled some shenanigans that they were never able to duplicate and they fell on their ass after we smacked them around so much that Skrabby Doo sent them the fuck back to whatever hole he thought he had dragged their bullshit puppy power out of!

Nodding firmly, Bandit turns to face Killer.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
So I say, yeah, you got some fucking shoes to fill. So you know what you do?

She reaches up to Killer’s shoulder and pats her right there.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
You wear that chip up there like a fucking badge of honour, you put it up there where it belongs and then you stare every other piece of shit that comes down the damn pike and DARE them to knock it off!

Killer smirks and nods briefly, but the look on her face is one of pure focus and determination.

Kara "Killer" Carter
And that’s EXACTLY what I’m gonna fucking do! I’m going to make sure that Jack here keeps her stranglehold over this tag team division! And I’m going to show the Mile High fans and wrestlers in the back that I can deliver in that ring just like Widow and Titaness could!

Bandit’s eyes flash.

Jackie "Bandit" Layton
The Hunt is on… cause Hell is empty…

Kara "Killer" Carter
And the Maidens are here!

And with that, Killer gets to her feet and turns off the camera causing the scene to end.

Tuesday, June 22

We open as Aoife Maguire-Knox opens the front door to greet her visitors Wendy, Lexa, and their son, J, Pellegrini. A round of hugs are had at the door, as J, a quiet 10-year-old, hangs back, watching all the women.

Wendy: Aye, Eef, thanks for having us over.

Aoife: Aye, it bae t’long where we kin jess breathe a lil’bit. Kat’s jess fanashin’ her shower, y’know how much she bae lovin’ t’train.

Wendy: Every since she’s gotten that Hardcore Title, she’s a woman possessed.

Lexa: Says the woman who’s been training like crazy since WWA announced it’s closing soon. Yous can always come to SCU though you’ll either have to change the team name or fight for supremacy.

Wendy looks over at Lexa and shakes her head.

Wendy: You know what we’d do.

Meanwhile, J is hiding behind Wendy, occasionally peeking his head around her before going back to his Switch. Aoife notices and leans around Wendy to spot him.

Aoife: Whot ye bae playin’, lad?

J momentarily freezes up, realizing he’s being talked to. He looks up shyly.

J: F...Fortnite.

Lexa: It’s okay, J. Aoife won’t bite.

Wendy flicks her eyebrow to get Lexa’s attention and mouths the words ‘he likes her tattoos’ and Lexa tries to stifle a laugh.

Lexa: I know what’s wrong.

J looks up at his mother, then looks at Wendy, and seeing the knowing looks on their face, J realizes he’s busted. Meanwhile, Katrina comes downstairs, hair loose and damp and no makeup as she comes over to J and gives him a hug first before she hugs Wendy and Lexa.

Katrina: How’s my little man?

J: I’m good, Aunt Harry. Thank you for letting us come over.

Katrina: You know you’re always welcome. Have you seen Duke yet? He’s likely out back if you want to play with him instead of listening to us talk about stuff.

J: Can I, Mom?

Lexa: Of course! Just be careful, ok?

J: I will.

As J practically leaps off the couch, he gives Katrina another hug and checks out Aoife again before he heads across the room. Aoife looks a bit concerned.

Aoife: He bae alright then?

Wendy peeks over to make sure J is out of earshot and laughs.

Wendy: J is completely smitten with you, Eef. He loves your tattoos, he’s become fascinated by them. He colors mine and Lexa’s sometimes and when he saw you the first time, he told me you were like a coloring book come to life. Kat, he got attached to from the beginning as she’s my tag partner and he’s told her to keep me safe.

Aoife smiles and blushes a little, then starts to snicker.

Aoife: Aye, I bae tinkin’ h bae scared o’me baecause o’ me brogue. ‘E’s a charmer, tha one is.

Lexa smiles bright, having a proud mother moment. Wendy nudges her with a smile of her own.

Wendy: That’s all her, Aoife. I’m the bad influence.

Lexa nudges her back.

Lexa: Quit saying that, yous is as important as me.

Katrina puts a hand on Aoife’s shoulder from behind and bends down to talk to her.

Katrina: Look at them, Aoife. They’ve been married sixty years. That’s what we’ll be like too.

Aoife puts a hand over Katrina’s hand and kisses her cheek. Wendy and Lexa chuckle at the ‘sixty years’ bit and nod along.

Aoife: Aye, tha bae true.

Lexa: Yous ready to watch the Wild Hunt promo they put out ahead of your match?

Over the next few minutes, the four of them watch the screen as Kara “Killer” Carter and Jackie “Bandit” Layton lay down their promo, Wendy and Katrina watching intently as they nod along, or cock the occasional eyebrow, or frown approvingly. When it’s over, Wendy and Katrina look at each other, each raising an eyebrow. Lexa and Aoife leave to go to the kitchen and prepare food for everyone, leaving Katrina and Wendy to discuss.

Katrina: I’m concerned about Kara. All this effort we’re putting in to help get her niece home, and Kara’s temper could derail all of that.

Wendy: Yeah, the Carters even used my connections against me by painting everyone in blue as on the take or some bullshit like that. I had a few kind officers remind me of my lack of jurisdiction even if I’m a higher-ranking officer. It sucks.

Katrina: I just want her to be ready for this match, Z. This is huge, this is for the tag team championships. I fought her in that Hardcore match, and she’s definitely earned the Killer moniker. With some more focus and training, she could have a choice of championship.

Wendy: I won’t argue that. I’ve seen her during the training sessions, she’s stronger than she realizes. Almost as if she’s hesitant to go that extra mile. You’re right, though, if she can hone herself in, she could be any champion she wants.

Katrina nods.

Katrina: She definitely couldn’t have a better partner to help her with that. Bandit has the tag team pedigree not even WE have yet, despite what we’ve accomplished so far.

Wendy: I used to watch and study her run with Widow, not a single team could stop them. Shame Widow’s back in the UK being a mom, the woman was great in the ring and a great balance to Jack. Speaking of Widow, have you caught the new crew overseas?

Katrina: I have. Haven’t had a chance to welcome them yet, but we should. They ARE our sisters after all.

Wendy: Think Krigare will feel the same way?

Katrina: When I spoke to her last, she was in Canada talking to her father. I think she’s realizing what family means a bit more now, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she reached out as well. Speaking of focus, we’re losing ours here. We were talking about Jackie’s pedigree.

Wendy: Right. Titaness, when she came in, she has that intimidation factor. Everyone focused on taking out Sam, when it was Bandit who was the bigger threat. However, have you ever seen Bandit that ramped up? Seems they both have a chip the size of an old Cadillac on their shoulders.

Katrina: I think Bandit’s still hurt that her career hasn’t gone the way she’s wanted it. She had two great tag partners who aren’t around anymore, and she’s itching to get back what she lost. And Kara, I truly believe, can allow her to do just that.

Wendy: Well, regardless who wins, the Shieldmaidens gain another championship. Plus Krigare has a strong shot at beating Leah for the Ultimate. And with her ability to make enemies with everybody, she’ll have contenders to come for a long time.

Katrina: While true, you can’t be going into this match thinking that way. Look at what we did with the Q Files when you got your head in the game. We can’t get complacent with that one win. We need more, whether we’re fighting together or on our own. We’re Shieldmaidens, we don’t give less than 110%.

Wendy: Alright, alright, calm down. I know you’re getting amped up but save it for Sunday. Let’s go see what our wives are up to over there. Whatever they’re cooking smells damn good.

Katrina: I’m always calm. You’re the hothead, remember?

Wendy: Shh. What are they making anyways?

Katrina: Oh, Eef is making coddle, and I think Lexa added a bit of an Italian twist. You’re right, smells awesome. Shall we go? We’ll have to put in some extra time in the gym to burn this off.

Wendy laughs at this as the two get up.

Wendy: Like you need a reason to get extra time in, Conan.
