Deep in the bowels of Madison Square Garden is where we find Katrina “Hairicin” Knox and Charlie “Maneater” Jennings sitting on director’s chairs in full gear, while Una Quinn paces back and forth.
“Here we are again, and I’m starting to feel like we are about to become a broken record. Another opponent coming for the ONLY prize that matters in Mile High Wrestling, and that is the Hardcore Championship. This tournament was put together to create new challenges, create new opportunities, and yet the one constant throughout this tournament, and even before this tournament started, is that nobody can touch The Purge.
It started off with just Zombie and I, her needing somebody to speak for her. A Hall of Famer who put the Phoenix Title in the spotlight. Hairicin, here, the long-time partner who combined became two-time tag champions and is the reigning Hardcore Champion here in Mile High Wrestling. And we have Maneater, who showed the world during our California dates that she can step in and be just as strong a force as Zombie and Hairicin. We have been fielding calls and emails and text messages from people wanting to get on this train because they know we are building that momentum and are going to the top.
Tonight isn’t about our future, it’s about this moment. And in this moment, this round of the Rise of the Phoenix tournament, we have a champion versus champion match. Who’s title is on the line again?”
Una looks back and Hairicin lifts her title.
“Oh, that’s right, because God forbid the AMMO Champion would do what Bruiser would have and defended the title against all comers. No, no, Talia, don’t break a nail or anything, we don’t want you to try and exert yourself by having to defend the… what was it she called it, the lowest-ranking title in Mile High?”
“That is what she said.”
“Didn’t she also say she was PROUD to hold the AMMO Championship?”
“She has said that too.”
“Didn’t she also cut down Bruiser for making the title mean something, only for her to turn around and say the exact same thing?”
“Mmhmm.”
“Do you see the problem here, Talia? You are trying to rewrite your own history but painted yourself into a corner. Do you make the belt, or does the belt make you? Unfortunately, for you, the answer is neither. You are not championship material because you look at these titles as accessories. Something to hold to look more important. Fact is, there was a time not so long ago that you were almost out of Mile High. You were lackluster, you rarely did anything. Now, all of a sudden, you have yourself a belt and we’re just supposed to consider you a threat?
THIS… is the only threat in Mile High Wrestling. What you see here, and what you DON’T see here.”
Una continues to pace, shaking her head with a scowl on her face.
“I’ve been hearing some of the dogs barking that the members of The Purge don’t speak for themselves. That we are somehow less than them because I do the talking. I listen to them, and then I look at the ratings. When we’re on TV, ratings for up. Our matches generate views. Our promos generate views. People see what’s new and fresh and they gravitate to that. They don’t care about the same old, same old. Personally, we’re waiting for the old guard to die off, and if they don’t kick the bucket soon? Well, we’ll just have to assist.
WE are why Mile High is the place it is. WE are going to beat Areano then beat Zdunich to sweep the tournament and set our sights on whoever we choose to. Zombie will be back with us soon enough. WE will take out the rest of the trash in this company, cut the dead weight and send them packing.
Hell isn’t empty, folks. We brought it with us. Purge out.”

The scene opens with the Ammo Tv championship, its bronze plates shinning as the camera pans out to reveal its possessor, Talia Areano. Backstage at Throwdown will be held in Madison Square Garden in New York City, New York, where she's seen sitting in the front row, watching ring crew put together the ring and the barricades. Talia places her championship down on the seat that's right beside her before putting her feet up onto the barrier to relax.
"Hola amigos! Here we are on the second round of The Rise of the Phoenix Tournament. I have to admit it took me some time to find my standing in MHW, and I have reached a point where it's looking pretty good for this chica. Since winning the Ammo TV from Bruiser was the moment everything changed for me in MHW. Bruiser did everything she could to make this championship means something. But it came to a point she couldn't do anything more with the championship. It needed a fresh face to take it to the next level, and that is where I come in that this Ammo Tv will bring the hungry rookie that wants to make a name for themselves are going to go for this championship, and I look forward to the new blood that will come for what I am holding."
Talia picks up the Ammo championship, smiling ear to ear as she gives it a peek before she places it down next to her.
"Chris, he did everything in his power in the first round, but I proved to everyone I just wanted it more than he did. I was willing to do what it took to come out the winner, and I did just that. So now we are on to the second round and, without a doubt, the biggest match n my MHW career. I have the opportunity to carve my name in the history books. The word went out that the Hardcore title would be on the line throughout The Rise of the Phoenix Tournament. It was a possibility that someone could end up being a double champion by the end of it, and that chica is going to be me!"
She throws up her hands, preparing to hear the outrage of the doubters.
"I know the hate must be coming now. Out of everyone that's a part of the MHW, I must look the least likely person to achieve something like that, but I have been known to prove many people wrong. That is going in the doubt being high, but halfway in, people's opinions change. This is one of those situations where the landscape of the MHW roster will shift once again, and I will be the person to do just that."
Talia folds her arms against her chest confidently.
"Katrina Knox! You have been a force to be reckoned with in Mile High. At the same time, you feel that I should put the Ammo championship on the line. I don't have a problem with it, but as it goes, management has decided that your title is the only one you are defending. But if you are still salty after losing the Hardcore title, I have no problem putting the Ammo championship. After I win this tournament and gain another title in the midst of that."
She tilts her head to the side, shrugs her shoulders.
"Even though the Ammo TV is the lowest ranking championship in terms of the MHW ranking. I'm very proud of holding this championship and add my name to the history of the title. At the same time, Katrina tries everything in her power to reach and dig too deep into my words to have something to fault me. But in reality, she realizes I am that challenge she so dearly wants. You don't have to admit it now, Katrina, but I am sure you are dripping thinking about the kind of match we will have on Throwdown. The thought of rolling around the ring with me has confused you about what you want to say that you have to talk about me not liking the Ammo TV championship. But this title gives me the chance to face upcoming stars, a future world championship that can change this sport. As I said before, Ammo is where stars are made. So Katrina, while you are holding that Hardcore title so desperately, I will detach you of what you have dearly, and that is that Hardcore title. While you claim I don't think much of titles, which I don't know if I should even address. Because that comment it's utterly baseless on my part."
Talia shakes her head.
"I'm here to stay Katrina, while most of you believed that I was one door out of Mile High, in reality, I was nowhere close. Not even a little bit; it just showed how little you thought of me at the time. Now I am shaking things up a little; it might not be a lot right now. But it's a little something. You have the power Kartina, you are a threat, and I know you will try to hurt me, to break my face and this slightly slender body of mine. But, I have a will that will never be sherd to pieces. I have the speed and the experience to move mountains; when the moment arrives, your reign as Hardcore champion will fade, and spicy one will soon begin."
Talia picks up her Ammo TV championship, placing it on her shoulder as she blows a kiss to the camera as it fades to black. |
