October 3, 2021/Lacey Williams' apartment/12:00 p.m.
What would I not do for my daughter? That is what Lacey Williams thinks about all the time. She got pregnant at 18 and her boyfriend left her so she was left to care for her child herself. And what a lot of people don't understand is that it is hard to be a single parent, especially if you are a single mom. Lacey has been going from job to job for years now. She is living in a one bedroom apartment in Michigan with her daughter now. How she wishes she could get Linda one of the talking dolls that she points out at Target, or one of those toy cars that kids can drive at Walmart. But she always has to tell Linda that she just doesn't have the money. And the smart child says that she understands, but Lacey just feels so bad. How she hates that horrible boy for leaving her to struggle like this. After the breakup she was evicted from her old house for not paying bills. But she had a newborn baby girl to take care of - she still can't forgive her boyfriend for just leaving her like that. She can still only barely pay for her apartment. Lacey made up her mind to just move in with her parents. There was no other way for her to take care of Linda.
But then she remembered her childhood. Wrestling in her backyard with her brothers and their friends. She was the only girl and the youngest, yet everyone else was impressed. She would here her brothers tell each other that she would be a pro wrestler one day. Job of her dreams. But as she grew older she thought, 'There's no way.' But could there be a way? If it would help her provide for her daughter - then yes, there has to be.
And here she is. In two weeks she will be fighting Reina Valhalla. She couldn't be more happy. Her stress and problems will be ending soon, she knows it.
As of right now, though, she is celebrating that beloved child's birthday. Linda's 10+ friends from school and church are there, as well as Linda's uncles, aunts, grandparents and cousins. Those being Lacey's brother's, sister in law's, parents, and nieces and nephews.
The big smile on Linda's face puts a big smile on Lacey's face as they play pin the tail on the donkey. Linda is telling because her cousin Jake was cheating. So her grandma announces that Linda's friend Kacey is winner since Jake was cheating. It's pretty loud but for the most part there is no arguing and everything is going smoothly.
"Mommy," Linda tugs on her mother's shirt sleeve. "Can we open presents?" Linda's face is pink from eating her pink princess cake.
"Yep you sure can," Lacey answers. And Linda opens up things like slime, new school supplies, stuffed bears, Barbies, and also clothes, which she doesn't really care much about.
As the guests are leaving and Lacey is cleaning up, Linda plays with her new birthday gifts. The excitement on Linda's face is plain and clear. It makes Lacey smile. What would her life be like now if Linda wasn't here. If she had put Linda up for adoption. Lacey may be living through hard times, but she is thankful every day for her beautiful daughter and how she makes her happy everyday. She honestly believes she couldn't live without her. *********************************************************************************************************************************************************************************************** After cleaning up for the party and playing Barbies with Linda for about an hour, it was time for bed and she read Linda a story, sang her 2 lullabies, and tucked her in before she dozed off. So now Lacey is sitting on her sofa reading a cooking magazine trying to get tired before heading to bed. After reading a while she looks up and decides to start her promo before she gets to bed.
"I could honestly never express how thankful I am to MHW for signing me. So before I get into talking about my opponent, I just wanted to say that I love MHW, that is why I chose to work here. Everyone here has immensive talent, and it couldn't be more of an honor to possible step in the ring with some of the greatest wrestlers in the world. So thanks again MHW and I can't wait to represent you in the ring. Now for my opponent, Reina Valhalla. I mean you're a Shieldmaiden so you are most likely pretty great in the ring. I can't say I personally like or have respect for most of you, but I can say it is an honor to be stepping in the ring with you. You beat Bobby Sutton in your first and last match so far, and it honestly gets me a little bit worried, but I remind myself that I'm great too and I am confident that I will beat you on AMMO."
Lacey nods her head. She tries her best to be friendly always but the urgency in her voice is hardly noticeable.
"You don't have anyone that you are fighting for, so you don't have the passion. Sure, you're a Shieldmaiden, and Shieldmaidens are great, don't get me wrong, but the one thing that you guys are lacking is passion. You have no passion whatsoever. However, I have plenty of passion, because I have a five year old daughter to take care of. No offense, but you are just a biker gang, literally. I am a 23 year old single mom trying to make a living. And you have no idea what that feels like to be a mom, the passion it gives you, specifically a single mom."
Now Lacey's voice is very desperate.
"Let's face it, you had to steal your finisher from Skrabz. You still have a long way to go Reina, and let's face it, I do too. And Reina, you may be talented, very talented, indeed, but on AMMO I will show the world exactly why I am here. And Reina, I'm sorry, but I'm going to have to start off with you. So good luck, and I hope we beat eachother up, but I will be the one standing tall in the end."
The tone of the last sentence is definitely desperate. The camera fades with Lacey's serious and worried yet kind face.

Shieldmaidens Compound New Orleans, LA October 7th, 2021 OFF-Camera
It had been one of the hardest workouts Reina had even endured. The Chief of The Purge, Katrina “Hairicin” Knox, was adamant that everyone match her intensity for the hours-long routines she set forth for the others. Reina found herself enjoying the challenges, while her much-bigger partners seemed to struggle a bit more. Hairicin would not allow them any respite, her normally jovial demeanor replaced by a sternness. She was punishing Wendy “Zombie” Pellegrini and Charlie “Maneater” Jennings for reasons unknown to Reina. However, as part of the team, Reina was subjected to the same disciplines put forth on this day and silently accepted them.
As they showered afterwards (sorry ladies and gents, nothing to see here - use your imagination if you wish), Maneater was first to speak up.
“Man, I could go for a giant breakfast. I’m fucking starving.” “Aye? I hear the Bras d’Or is running brunch specials. You and Z seem to know the place well.”
Reina turns her shower off and reaches for a towel.
“I’d be up for the Bras d’Or. I haven’t been yet.” “I’m sure you would be, considering Bandit’s sisters work there. Which one was it you called a goddess?”
Reina wraps her hair in a towel, and fights the urge to blush. Instead she stands up to her teammates in defiance.
“You already know if you saw the comment. It was Tommie. Instant turn-on when I saw her picture.” “Oh yeah? I must have missed this.”
Hairicin turns her shower off and grabs a towel to dry off.
“Reina, I would suggest you be careful. Associating with Shieldmaidens comes with responsibility. While there are two defined groups of us, at the end of the day, we’re all family. Some, and yes I stand by my comment the other day, have been slipping. However, I know Bullet will rein them in and get them to where they should be, even if some no longer fight in Mile High. That is why I’m doing the same with you. Wendy, I never demoted you, I know where your strengths lie and I wanted you in a position where you are strongest.”
Zombie and Maneater turn their showers off as Zombie nods to herself. Reina tosses them towels.
“I get that now, Kat. We were great together, and yeah, I miss having a partner. You became a great solo wrestler like I knew you would and I got a bit bummed out. Losing to Mad Dog hurt. CJ and I, though, we have history, so maybe it was the right call.” “Wendy and I gots each others’ backs, and yours as well.”
Hairicin nods as they head to the lockers.
“Reina, you were never officially welcomed by us, and I apologize for that. You are very much a part of the Purge. Una told me great things about you, and I watched your match with Sutton and I was impressed. You bring something extra to us and we appreciate it.”
Hairicin holds her hand out and Reina shakes it, before the others step up and one by one shake Reina’s hand as well.
“Thank you, all of you. When I saw you guys fight, I knew I wanted in with you guys. Una told me she’s become sort of a recruiter but initially wasn’t doing as such due to her personal commitments, so I’m glad she took the time for me. You are all amazing women.” “I wonder if the bar is open this early. Wendy, you up for round two?”
Wendy shudders just thinking of what happened the last time.
“You realize we have house shows to do, right? You really want to get in the ring shit-faced?”
Hairicin puts a hand out between the two of them.
“Today, you may all do what you wish. Tomorrow morning, we fly out to Louisville. At that point, I want all of you focused and clear-headed. Mile High is our yard. Now…”
Hairicin sticks her fist out in front of her. Zombie and Maneater put their fists in and look at Reina. Reina extends her fist and hesitantly joins the group.
***** Reina’s Apartment New Orleans, LA Later the same day ON-Camera
The following promo was recorded from Reina Valhalla’s phone, looking up at the ceiling. Though one would hear shuffling and other sounds, Reina is not on-screen.
“Lacey Williams, first of all, welcome to Mile High Wrestling. You’ve gone on record as saying much of the same things everybody else has said upon entering this company. The talent is off the charts. It’s a professional environment. You’re here to make your own opportunities, and I can appreciate all of that. I can. Without that enthusiasm, that drive, what’s the point of even stepping through those ropes? Building your body? Honing your skills? So, yes, I can appreciate the vibes you’re putting out in the world. I can see and hear the desperation in you. You’re a single mom, wanting a better life for you and your little girl. I buy all that, I wish you all the best in Mile High. I’m stoked for you, I’d be your cheerleader if it wasn’t for the fact your first opponent is me.”
We can hear Reina brushing her hair, occasionally you see her hair, brown instead of the red she had recently, waving in front of the camera as a brush is pulled through it.
"At least that's what the booking sheet said, but I wonder if YOU read it, and I'll tell you why. Si, you did do a bit of research on me, even going so far as comparing my Fuera Con Su Cabeza with Skrabz's Mic Check. I didn't steal it from him, it's a move I have used for years because it combines speed with unpredictability, things I've had to use to my advantage in this business. I'll give you points for noticing the obvious, but I can tell you're still very green."
We can hear small cylinders clinking together before an unclicking of something with a plastic cover.
"Maybe you should have kept your legs closed and stayed in school because there's no excusing the error you committed. See, while other members of The Purge ARE Shieldmaidens, I am not nor do I have any desire to be. I respect them, I'm friends with them, but I move to my own beat. You also mentioned that they have no passion. You must not have watched any of the shows or heard any of them talk. They built the company you sound so excited to be a part of. You can't have things both ways, Lacey. Well, you can, and you end up being a child raising a child but I digress."
After a couple of minutes, the phone moves again and now we see Reina's face made up like she is going out.
"Listen, I have a date tonight, and then tomorrow I go back to work. See, we have these things called house shows where we go and entertain the fans. No need to cut down your opponents, you go out, have a match, do some meet and greets, sign some autographs. Maybe one day you'll be invited to come along. If you can find a babysitter that is. In the meantime though, go and watch some matches. Learn about the talent in Mile High before you run your mouth about shit you know nothing about, ok? Just a bit of advice for you.
Oh, and off with your head."
Reina smiles and blows a kiss into the camera before she ends her video.
