May 2020 Bayou St. John Off Camera
Tara had spent sometime in the Bayou after the virtual ceremony was over as she wished to focus herself to some meditation. A lot had happened in the past few months since the pandemic began to wreak throughout the world and shutting everything down, causing her to back away from professional wrestling until things cleared. She knew going to the fellow practionners' home as their female religious leader would be difficult but the virtual ceremonies were a calming relief to many. She adjusted the floor-length dark purple dress she was wearing before she had set up the new Veve on the ground. She sat in a lotus position when she was done drawing, closed her eyes and she began quietly chanting to the Spirits and Loa of her people.
"I hear your call loyal Daughter."
Tara opened her eyes at the faint voice in her mind but she noticed that she was not in the area of the Bayou but a different world that reminded her as a crossroads during a time of late night around midnight.
"Papa Legba?"
"Yes, it is I Tara."
"What do I owe this honor my lord?"
There was a brief silence and Tara remained in the seated position on the ground but lowered her head in respect to him. Papa Legba continued to speak to Tara.
"I am here to speak with you for a personal matter. You have been representing me and the Barons well. The recent events have changed the world greatly and you have guided those who follow our ways diligantly. We wish for you to take a more personal approach to your representation of the world of us."
Tara was surprised of Legba's request but she continued to listen to his request in her trance like state.
"Many outsiders have a misconception of our world and we need to change that as soon as possible."
"All of us who follow the Loa do our best to teach the world what in means to follow the Loa."
"Yes but many do not have the platform that you have access to and it will be a grand stage for our cause."
Tara's eyes opened suddenly after Legba left to allow her to her thoughts and she felt an energy surge through her body.
"Our time has come and our plan has begun!" ____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________
Present Day New Orleans On Camera
Tanja had arrived in the French Quarter after she returned to the main area of New Orleans after she did a ceremony in the home of a follower of Voudou of a congregation she led in the Garden District. She was meeting up with an old friend in the Quarter near Jackson Square but she was a bit early. She adjusted the flow of her dark purple dress as the bells that were on the bottom hem were jingling quietly.
"Greetings Spirits, we have not been inside a wrestling ring in a long time due to the issues that are going on with the world. We have made arrangements with this promotion called Mile High Wrestling that we have heard a great deal about through other channels. It must be the will of Papa Legba himself or one of the other Loa that we are to debut in the place that we call home of New Orleans. The Smoothie King Centre is not as known as the home of the New Orleans Saints but we will take advantage of the situation at hand to make our debut at Black Magic."
“And how fitting is the name.”
Tanja heard the voice of someone that she had not heard from except on recent Zoom meetings with her mentor and manager in Mile High, Whisper. She never thought she would ever have a manager at her side in her 11 year wrestling career but she would not have anyone else than Whisper at her side. She watched as Whisper joined her at the entrance of the major landmark of Jackson Square.
"We were not expecting you this soon Whisper. We know you for someone to be very prompt and on time, never early."
“I always arrive when I mean to my dear, I did not want to miss this.”
A light, singsong laugh is heard from the Cajun as she listens to Whisper. She remembered the times where the retired wrestler turned trainer as the General Manager of a brand she had been a part of many years ago. It showed that Whisper had not changed in her ways that were her calling card as a wrestler.
"We do appreciate it, old friend. We are not exactly known as someone who has a person in our corner. We have grown a lot as wrestlers in the past 11 years but by having someone else who is a veteran in our corner, it is something that we will look forward to at Black Magic. Forgive us for our foolishness; allow us to introduce the woman we have at our side. This is Whisper and she is the one that will be standing at our side whenever we have our engagements, wrestling or otherwise, while we are at Mile High Wrestling."
“It is my pleasure, my dear, to stand beside the woman that is almost as bad as I am. But enough about me, you have a lovely lady to fight soon..”
The voice of Whisper is laced with sarcasm so thickly you could almost see it drip from the words.
"Yes, we are opening the PPV in the Undercard facing someone by the name of Azurine Vebbins. We have not crossed paths with her in the ring but we have seen her matches in other promotions and she tries to throw people off with her girlish and nerd-like tactics and it has sometimes succeeded for her in the past."
Tanja shook her head in disappointment at the tactics that Azurine would use leading up to a match or during a match itself. She was not going to allow her debut at a new promotion be thrown out of the window from someone like Azurine.
"Azurine has not seen the tactics that we have brought to a promotion in the world of the Loa and Voudou. She may have seen some who have shown hints of the supernatural but we are more than that and we will gladly teach her so she would not be one of the many ignorant or uneducated that we have crossed paths with."
“Ignorance will get your face smashed in my dear. Please heed the warning given. Do not hide behind silly little mind games and tricks. You are about to step into the ring with someone that has been playing those games a lot longer than you have my dear. And I have played the games and won for nearly 20 years now.. Do not go there.. For our minds are places so dark and dangerous that Angels fear to tread close to us. Uneducated little girls that try and play the game with us soon find themselves looking up at the pretty lights in the ring as they lay smashed to the mat. Twisted and bent into all kinds of unnatural shapes. So do heed the warning. But even if you do not. It does not change the outcome.”
"We do agree as we must show that even with the best intentions by any opponent, we will bring on the Death's Call upon Azurine in the glorious world of Black Magic. It is rare that we tap into the darker side of our ways in order to survive."
The scene slowly fades to black as Tanja and Whisper are seen heading into Jackson Square in order to discuss manners for the future of the Cajun in MHW.

Hallowed Hailin's
Her promotional material opens with traditional variety show trappings. An orange and black background alerts audience members Azurine Vebbins elected not to banter from a bayou backlot. “Da Damsel in Dat Dress” sweeps a spindly, frayed broom while sporting a mass-produced witch costume. In addition to the gaudy, glittered, and green garment being tea length, MHW’s “Mrs. Most Marketable” harbors her halo behind several Mardi Gras bead necklaces. Despite displaying a brave babyface persona, Vebbins voice veers towards vexation.
Azurine Vebbins: Haunted how goes it from “Da Hardheaded Housewife,” naughty Nawlins naysayers! Why are you naysayers? Because Tanja Deveraux’s got y’all in a deeper trance dan a club track blarin’ at Bras D’or. I’m humblin’ a hometown hag Sunday night inside Smoodie Kin’ Center. I plan to knock her head against a turnbuckle more often dan triflin’ trick-or-treaters at my neighbor’s door. She’s vehemently versed in vodou, but it’s “Da Vanilla Vixen” who shall mightily brew Black Magic durin’ Monster Holiday Wrasslin’s pay-per-view broadcast. Have her séance wid Sophia Petrillo, Dor-o-dy Zbornak, and possibly great aunt Blanche since I’ll be servin’ superkicks stiffer dan Shady Pines Sweet Tea. It’s gonna be a major mambo when we meet. Like dis barely bristled broom, “Da Adorkable Angel” fully intends to sweep her off bode feet. Could hy-pod-e-size openin’ wid our onslaught conjures one helluva hullabaloo. After all, wid zero Shieldmaidens in sight, dat dance floor’s essentially empty. As announced on a recent episode of Mile High Uncut, dis will be our last limbo for Season Dree of MHW. My performance determines where da bar gets set when returnin’ to Season Four. Hence, “Da Vivacious Variable” would prefer to equate dis exhibition wid excellence rad-er dan an ebb. Dat’s why I need to propel dis priestess into a parallel plane of existence. Meanwhile, Tanja can spam me wid Dead’s Call, but my rotary dial phone receiver’s off da hook. Means da number cannot be completed as dialed. Same din’ happens when Wavy Crockett goes for a pick-up line. He’s a puny prick whose effectiveness is comparable to a weakened spirit. Mine, however, must remain resolute and emboldened. Any-din’ less may result in cerebrally kneelin’ to “Da Cajun Queen.” As her assigned adversary, I stand in Sansa Stark contrast to her gamin’ dat chair of contention.
Mrs. Vebbins ceases communication by turning off the camera with her broom.
