It's human nature to compare ourselves to our peers. So it goes without saying that every relationship experiences some degree of jealousy or competitiveness, but the relationship between siblings is perhaps more prone to rivalry than any other. Many things can give rise to sibling rivalry, in some cases it can take years to form but in others you can see it's insidious roots spawn instantly in the mind of an only child, who has just learned they will soon have a sibling, someone to share everything with. But what about siblings who were born within mere minutes of each other? Their relationships are often strained from day one as they compete for parental attention, for toys and later on as they grow, for dominance. It's a tough job raising twins, but any attentive and committed parental unit that has been blessed with such a miracle will tell you that once fostered a healthy bond between twin siblings is one of the strongest you will find. But what about twin boys who lacked such a parental unit? What about twin boys who lacked guidance? What about twin boys who were unwanted and born into a uncaring world of poverty? And what if those twin boys, who already had so much going against them, were encouraged to fight each other for the most tenuous reasons and, sometimes, just for the entertainment of the adults that were supposed to love, protect and provide for them? And what if, despite all of that, those twin boys were inseparable from birth, bestowed with a bond that would only grow stronger the more it was tested? Well in that kind of environment and with those kinds variables, boys aren't raised into men. Children are warped into thugs and hooligans. Young men are molded in to monsters and menaces. Back in the Dayz: Chapter 1 10th September 2009 Somerleyton Estate Brixton LondonBeads of condensation trickled down the single glass pane windows that were set in the mold covered walls of the damp and humid living room in which the big for their age, twelve year old, non-identical twin boys stood toe to toe. The taunts and jeers from the adults in the room sent adrenaline pulsing through their adolescent bodies as they prepared themselves for what was to come.
This was a a scenario that had played out many times before and they both knew what was coming, what they had to do.
Time seemed to slow down as their fists begun flying, their faces acting as make shift landing strips for crash landing hay-makers, the impacts coming with quick succession as they unloaded on each other in a flurry.Within in thirty seconds it was over, their uncles, twenty years older and twenty years stronger, pulled them apart and struck them both with blows more powerful than all the punches they themselves had just thrown at each other combined. * - * The bedroom door was locked from the outside less than a second after the twins were haphazardly thrown inside. The sound of the key turning in the lock echoed around the sparsely decorated room. The twins looked at each other, their faces swelling and bleeding more and more while they observed. With their adrenaline ceasing to act as a pain killer the consequences of their physical exchange began to be felt.
There were no tears, no tantrums, in fact their reaction to their wounds and increasing levels of pain would be surprising in men more than three times their age but in all truth it wasn't bravery or anything to be proud of. Their threshold and tolerance for pain was nothing but a grim testament to the years worth of abuse and violence their young minds and bodies had already been inflicted with.
The two boys looking at each other, love, hatred and anger simmering just under their skin.
"One of these days..." the smaller of the twins spoke, his voice breaking through a mixture of emotion and puberty.
"It's gonna be us locking them in a room." the larger of the two interjected, correctly finishing his brothers sentence with a sternness in his voice denoting a mindset well beyond his twelve years.
"I probably need to sign those two, you think, Ray?" - Robert Mack, 12th July 2018 |
Signed or not, those two men who tried to jump the guard railing during the main event at the Rise In Phoenix would arrive at the first episode of Thursday Night Throwdown, once again invited by Skrabal Stanazas, only this time there were no front row seats. The invitation was irrelevant though, because after working a couple of shows for a small promotion in Phoenix Tox "Da Rebel" and Shox "Da problem", Da Brix City Boyz, had every intention of turning up on Thursday Night Throwdown be they signed, invited, or not. An issue with security left them unable to gain access to the Magness Arena in time for Skrabal's match with Bullet, a match where the numbers disadvantage proved too great for the reigning MHW champion to overcome. The issue with security was solved after that match and the twins were granted access to the arena, but not before several security guards were left requiring medical attention. Da Brix City Boyz would make their presence known on two occasions that night, firstly by entering the ring during a match between The Streetz and The Exes and the second time by serving as a distraction for Skrabz, allowing him to strike back at RJ Mitchell with a Mic Check, clutching a small measure of revenge for her and her Shield Maidens costing him his match with Bullet. Their quick disposal of The Streetz and The Exes spurred MHW management in to making an official match between Da BCB and The Streetz for the second episode of Thursday Night Throwdown. With so many questions already being asked with regards to ongoing situations and conflicts within Mile High Wrestling, another two are now on the lips of fans and the typing fingers of bloggers and wrestling journalists alike. Those two questions are as foreboding as they are easily asked. Question number one. Who the realest?
And, to follow up, question number two. Is it you?
August 6th 2018 Denver ColoradoShox "Da Problem" Tox "Da Rebel"
Tox and Shox stand facing a tripod mounted camera with their backs to a wall in a unknown location in Denver, Colorado. Visible only from the wasit up, all that can be seen of them is muscular torsos, their intimidating physiques stretching their BCB vest to the limit. They breathe heavily, sweat and anger seeping from their every pore. "We were always comin' to Mile High." "One day." "One way..." "Or another."
They glance at each other knowingly, each of them seeming to know what the other is thinking. "But we had a prolem or two with security on da way in..." "And security had a prolem or two wid us..." "So we didn't make it in time for dat bullshit with the Maidens..." "But we made it just in time to hear that Streetz bullshit."
Every single muscle in Tox's upper bodies tenses and flexes with rage as he contemplates a question. "They the realest?." "That's what they said." "They don't feel too real to me." "Me either."
The pair relax slightly, they body language losing a degree of aggression but the wild glint in their eyes shows it still simmers beneath the surface. "I think we dealin' wid' some fakes." "Frauds..." "Posers..." "But we gon' find out." "We already know." "They gon' find out."
Shox nods as the words leave his lips, a subconscious gesture indicating his level of confidence. Tox nods in agreement and turns to face his fraternal twin brother. Looking down on him by just a few inches he speaks confidently, an intense expression on his face. "They think we comin' for the them."
Tox shoves Shox as he speaks. "We are."
Shox shoves Tox back as he replies. "They think we comin' for The Exes."
Tox shoves Shox again, his voicing rising. "We are!"
Shox says loudly while shoving Tox again with an intensity to match the one in both their voices. "They think we comin' for the Maidens."
Tox slaps Shox around the face with a hard right hand as the words leave his mouth. "We are!"
Shox slaps Tox back with an equally hard left hand as he speaks in response. "Tell 'em what we comin' for." "Everything." "Everything?" "Everything!"
Calming down slightly they turn to face the camera. "S'what I thought. "S'what I know." "They do this to stay outta da streets?" "Next Thursday on Throwdown..." "We out to expose y'all." "And you wont ever be able to show your faces in da streets again."
They glance at each other confidently, their faces bearing deep red marks caused by their hard slaps just moments ago. "Coz real recognize real." "And we don't recognize you." -FADE-
