PRELUDE -- The Winds of Change(Scythe's Perception
After the show Miranda picks up Raven, Ella, and Scythe from the arena to the hotel. Scythe seems excited about the encounter with Brandon Young, and Raven Trueblood when not glued to the eyes of his wife agrees that the two young men would be a perfect team to shock this Mile High Wrestling nervous system. Ella nods and agrees.
Miranda: That sounds fascinating. What else did you two talk about?
I sink into my subconscious back to when I was face to face with Brandon Young, I was trying to look for the assets Mister Mack acquired for the next six months. He seemed excited about that deal and has got quiet, I'm not stupid these will become toys on a shelve, my Uncle one of them if things don't make money in the corporate world than they are going to be used to push other talent. when you live in OHIO... you see mergers a lot, it doesn't work out for the little guy.

Scythe: Oh, I was just talking to him about the opportunities he should be making for himself. He is part of that deal where Jett is flopping, is Gabriel Ohio flopping? I am just worried you know for Uncle, I am terrified that they might blacklist him, you know how stubborn he is, he is a bit nuts, he can be a little crazy, his reality isn't normal like most people's. Miranda I took so long to realize that, I forgot what it was even like... what is it even like to be around a sane person?
I can see I choose my words a little poorly.
Miranda: So I am not normal?
Scythe: You are, but you and Uncle Raven can put someone on edge...through no fault of your own doing, just nature. I feel I need to protect him, just as I do you.
each breath feels tighter, but I keep my lungs going. I know that I have to keep using words to talk to her or she will disconnect from me. letting out a sigh and putting my hands on each of her shoulders I look into her eyes and speak.
Scythe: I have to branch out to other people Miranda, this doesn't mean I do not love you. Did you think I stopped loving you with Uncle Raven came into our lives?
She looks down so I pull her tightly into my chest to help her feel more secure, she lets her guard down and wraps her arms around me. I like feeling strong like this, it is a feeling I carry with me into that ring, I left it behind when I fought Tyke Index last. That was my mistake, my downfall, that was the lesson I had to learn from. I am not weak for needing those that I love. I deserved to relapse, I deserved to fall victim to Coke Mountain.
The scene fades out on Scythe holding on tightly to Miranda reassuring her his new venture with Brandon Young will not waiver his loyalty to her. Their survival in this world will depend on allies and right now they need more than just Raven, this is what he must do for the greater good.
