Jordan Hagan is seated across an attractive female as the scene opens. He glances up at the camera before speaking, "I'd like to welcome Mile High Wrestling's newest signee. She calls herself the "Queen of Kings". Please welcome, Erin Blue."
As the camera focuses on Blue, she smiles and nods. "Thanks. I'm so glad to be here. I've been sending in my tapes for a year and finally, they've taken notice. I'm glad to be a part of this amazing roster."
Jordan glances down at his cards before turning up to Erin, "Let's start about your beginning in professional wres--"
Erin cuts him off. "I'd like to start with what most have probably already been alerted to and perhaps have questions."
Jordan nods his head, "You are talking about your role as a transgender wrestler."
"That's correct. What I don't want is for anyone to think I'm not upfront about who I am. I spent most of my childhood and first part of my adult life really unsure about who I really was. I was a jock, I joined the military right out of high school."
Photos of her as a boy growing up at different ages, her in a team photo with the football and basketball team and her as a man in a military uniform are all shows during this part of the conversation.
"I can say as I sit here before you that who you see me as right this moment is who I really am. It took me 24 years to finally come to that conclusion and seven years later, I am very happy with who I am."
"But, you've been very outspoken that you aren't here to be a role model or an activist for transgenders."
Erin pauses for a moment as if just how to phrase what she wants to say, "That's not entirely accurate. I'll say this. It was a very hard decision for me to make to change from being Aaron to Erin." She enunciates the two names a little differently. "It was a very personal decision. What I don't want to do is come out here and use my position as a wrestler in that way. My profession is not that of an activist. My profession is as a professional wrestler. That being said, if someone wanted advice about it, then perhaps I'd be in some sort of position to offer some, having been through it myself. It's not my position, however, to encourage others to do what I've done. That decision has to come from within themselves and not by any other outside force. I don't want to be known as the "transgender wrestler". I want to be known as a wrestler. I'm not a typical gender bending wrestler what pretends to be a transgender in a over-the-top manner. That's not who I am. I am here to compete and win championships, not to be a side show and I hope that Mile High Wrestling understands this. Whether it be the Throwdown Championship, the Phoenix Championship or the Mile High Championship -- I plan to be a champion within this company. And I hope they all take me very seriously because as a professional wrestler, I am very real."
"So you've already designs on one of our champions?" asks Jordan.
"I wouldn't be here otherwise. Why go into a sport if your goal is not to be among the best," she states as she shifts in her seat. "I've heard it throughout my training. If you're not entering this sport to become a champion, then you shouldn't be here. But don't think that I'm a fool. I realize there are rungs to climb and I am starting at the bottom. Whether it be Leah, Psycho, Ripley, Emily Falls or Chris Mosh -- whoever Mile High Wrestling puts me in the ring with, I will show exactly what I can do inside that ring."
Jordon glances down at his notes briefly before asking, "Why 'The Queen of Kings'?"
There's a chuckle that comes from Erin as she just grins. "It's a statement. Professional wrestling has been a mostly male dominated sport. I can say that because I used to be a dude. The influx of women into the sport has been great, but they are still struggling to break through. 'The Queen of Kings' is a statement that I'm not going to be held down by anyone. I will rise above."
"Who are you rooting for at "Rise Again?"
Erin laughs out loud. "Well, that wouldn't be very political for me to answer, now would it? Let's just say I have a ringside seat and I will be scouting every wrestler that competes on the stage. I'll sit among the fans and be one of them for that night because I know that once "Rise Again" is over, it's going to be back to the grind and preparing myself for whoever the company decides to put me in the ring with."
Jordan laughs and nods. "Well, thank you for sitting down with me here and introducing yourself. This is Jordan Hagan, with "The Queen of Kings" Erin Blue for Mile High Wrestling. Don't forget to watch "Rise Again" exclusively on the SE Network this Sunday. Perhaps you'll see Erin Blue in the audience."
"I hope so!"
As the camera focuses on Blue, she smiles and nods. "Thanks. I'm so glad to be here. I've been sending in my tapes for a year and finally, they've taken notice. I'm glad to be a part of this amazing roster."
